Pack of Cards (free) 03:21
Pack of Cards I huddled in the pack to ease the pain Now I’m going off that med on a crazy train I thought we we were hunting where no kin had ever roamed But we were really stacking cards into a broken home I used to see a place where I belonged But only ever visible in the fog It feels like a change of seasons, With a wiser vision I’m seeing it a whole lot clearer And there’s nothing here for me. I was nearly starving, a farmer without a farm Looking to prove myself, I only wanted to work real hard I went to the fair grounds, to see about a job They put me on commission and then I realized there was no sign anyone had ever been around I used to see a place where I belonged It was only ever visible in the fog And it feels like a change of seasons, When the promise breaks into wayward little pieces And there’s nothing left for me.

Shake it Off 03:25
Shake it Off I strolled out on the street again I licked the shallow pool again Scavenging in low light suits me fine Because there’s a promise in the night I’ve been sensing things I need to find Smelling feasts beyond the sidelines And now I know they’ll fill me up the same As when we used to dine In your brighter, warmer home In those softer times I feel calm now that I know my route Paired the maze with an instinct reborn I don’t know what I’m going to do I’ll figure it out when I need I’ll find cover when it storms And I’ll shake it off when it leaks When I’m seeing it like I do right now I can piece it together some how So don’t wait for me to come around again There’s freedom in release When I’ve got everything that I need.

A Kind Tongue I saw myself reflected in a flooded ditch tonight I was a trembling silhouette against a cold, empty sky I’ve been really feeling down, in need of a kind tongue No good by myself, I can’t do it own my own. We’re treading heavily in the winter mud Bogged down in it like we said that we’d never become In straying from the path, we got a thousand little cuts We’re bleeding in the brush Well I’m leaning, but you’re too far away I won’t pin it on you, but I’m not ready to share the blame From a distance I can tell that you feel the same It’s hard to adjust what comes with age but it doesn’t have to be this way I saw your shadow, limping on the street I smelled blood on your flanks, and the rawness of your feet Something is lurking, behind you in the wind I gave off soft calls, but you never heard them We’re treading heavily in the winter mud Bogged down in it like we said that we’d never become In straying from the past, we got a thousand little cuts We’re bleeding in the brush Well I’m leaning, but you’re too far away I won’t pin it on you, but I’m not ready to share the blame From a distance I can tell that you feel the same It’s hard to adjust what comes with age but it doesn’t have to be this way

New Energy 05:07
New Energy I’ve got a new energy today, there’s a firmness in my step The kind that comes from carrying, then losing a heavy load. I’m scrambling along I hardly feel a thing Without the weight the loosened stones Don’t press into my feet It’s all under control I do what I’ve got to do I don’t even think about it And I don’t need you You’re forgiven You’re forgiven Without the pain in my heart There’s nothing left of you at all It’s not that you didn’t mean something to me, you did The hollow space you cast was a perfect measure of it Even though it burned I used to keep it close Coveted like a key To my natal home But now I can see how small It had always been Compared to blunt trauma It’s needle thin You’re forgiven You’re forgiven Without the pain in my heart There’s nothing left of you at all
